Please join Charles Newell for his lecture on:

William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus
On January 10, 2008, Court Theatre will open Charles Newell’s production of Titus Andronicus, Shakespeare’s earliest tragedy. Mr. Newell will explain why this work suggests to him a modern saga of privilege and responsibility full of aggression that is just for show…or is it? With actress Hollis Resnik, star of Court’s production, Mr. Newell will use three speeches of Tamora, Queen of the Goths, to illustrate the contrast between a straight reading of the play and the depth the text takes on when we place it in a contemporary “envelope.”
